Theresa Kennelly Mooney, MA

Theresa Kennelly Mooney is the Center on the Developing Child’s Assistant Director of Communications. She shapes and implements communication strategies, manages outreach efforts, and fosters engagement with the Center’s stakeholders. As an educator earlier in her career, Theresa joined the Center in 2023 to support equitable outcomes for young children facing adversity.

Before the Center, Theresa worked on the marketing and communications teams at the nonprofits Leadership for Educational Equity and Teach For America. She also previously worked for the New York City Department of Education on special education policy and implementation. She earned her BA in English and psychology from the University of Michigan and MA in secondary education from Johns Hopkins University.
