At the Center on the Developing Child, we aim to leverage the power of science to catalyze changes in policy and practice to ensure that young children have what they need to thrive. For 20 years, we have provided free, science-based resources to partners and changemakers around the globe, thanks to support from our core investors and many other generous donors. As we look ahead to the next 20 years, your financial contributions will enable us to continue to provide free and accessible content that meets the moment in our changing world.

There are many ways to make your donation to the Harvard Center on the Developing Child.

Make your check payable to “President and Fellows of Harvard College.” In the check’s memo section, please allocate your gift to The Center on the Developing Child fund.

Call the Harvard University Office of Gift Administration at 617-495-1750 to make a gift over the phone.

Donor Advised Funds

You can support the Center on the Developing Child by recommending a grant from your donor advised fund, or by designating the Center as a final beneficiary upon the termination of the fund.

If you have an account with Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or BNY Mellon, select your fund provider and you will be redirected to their website to make your gift. If your DAF is with a different provider, contact them directly with a request to make a gift to the Center on the Developing Child on your behalf.

Please use our legal name President and Fellows of Harvard College and federal tax ID 04-2103580. Include a note indicating that the gift should be allocated to the Harvard Center on the Developing Child fund. To ensure proper crediting, please email us.

You can also establish a donor advised fundthrough Harvard, which provides an immediate tax deduction, the investment performance of the Harvard endowment, and the flexibility to direct gifts to the Center and other initiatives.

Planned Gifts

What is Harvard’s Federal Tax Identification Number?

Harvard is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a private nonprofit 501(c)3 with a federal tax ID (EIN) of 04-2103580. Harvard’s legal name is President and Fellows of Harvard College, which will appear on all relevant tax documentation.

When will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

Tax receipts are mailed within 15 business days after the donation is made to the preferred address on file. As of March 2022, all gifts made by credit card will receive a tax receipt to the email provided in the online giving form. If you need a copy of your tax receipt, use the Request a Tax Receipt form.

Can I make a confidential donation?

Yes. Please reach out to the Office of Gift Administration (OGA) by email at oga@harvard.edu if you would like your gift to remain confidential.
