Dr. Lindsey C. Burghardt, MD, MPH, is a practicing pediatrician at Milton Pediatrics, where she is the Medical Director of Reach out and Read. Her work at the Center focuses on bringing the science of stress, adversity, and resilience to practicing pediatricians, and as well as building capacity in practitioners to help innovate in pediatric practice. Her experience includes working closely with a variety of organizations to engage diverse stakeholders and advance health policy and programs that benefit children and families. Her area of expertise is in communicating the science of early childhood, including adversity, stress, and resilience, to diverse medical and non-medical audiences. She earned her Masters in Public Health in Health Management and Policy from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and completed a research fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado. She earned her MD from Yale University and her undergraduate degree from The College of William & Mary. She is a lecturer in Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and holds appointments at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital.
