This article by Elizabeth Gudrais highlights the research of Matthew K. Nock, Center-affiliated faculty member, and how his expertise in suicide risk is being used to help the U.S. Army. Nock and other researchers are conducting a five-year suicide prevention study using data from past suicides, current soldiers, and new recruits to take a closer look at this particularly vulnerable population. Nock, who is a member of the Center’s steering committee and its Child Mental Health Network, is a professor in the psychology department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
