María José/Majo is a Project Manager at the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University. She joined in March 2024 to support the ECD LEAD (Learning and Engagement to Advance Development) program, a virtual program for leaders in Latin America interested in incorporating the advanced science of ECD in their current work and collaborating with other early childhood champions. She is also a member of the Learning Design Team which works to apply best practices in adult learning to interactive offerings delivered by the Center to key audiences. Prior to coming to the Center, she interned at Project Zero a research center at the Harvard Graduate School of Education which focuses on enhancing education through innovative research in learning, thinking, and creativity, and was also teaching in K12 schools in her home country Ecuador. María José holds a Master’s in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a concentration in Psychology from Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador. In addition to her work at the Center, María José teaches Spanish at Harvard University.
