Cerella Craig, M.P.H

Cerella Craig, MPH is a Senior Project Manager for the Pediatric Innovation Initiative (PII) at the Center on the Developing Child. Cerella has served as a liaison between marginalized communities and research for nearly 15 years, taking a special interest in projects supporting health equity. She started her career as a Public Service Specialist at the UCONN Center for Public Health and Health Policy, training students to deliver nutrition education in inner cities. From 2012 to 2020, Cerella was a Community Mental Health Ambassador for the Mental Health Outreach for Mothers (MOMS) Partnership at the Yale School of Medicine. At MOMS, Cerella co-facilitated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) courses focused on reducing depressive symptoms for low-income mothers in New Haven, CT. As Research Staff with Yale’s SEICHE Center for Health and Justice from 2020-2023, Cerella coordinated and supported research and advocacy efforts focused on improving healthcare access for people with criminal justice involvement. She is committed to prioritizing the ethical considerations of community-based research and was a member of the PII Community Leadership Council from 2015-2023. Cerella holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Social Inequalities from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Public Health degree from Southern Connecticut State University.
